Any idea guys? If you were to add a new exhaust, intake, etc, can the car do sub 5sec?

Nope. Bolt-on IHE combos will only yield you at the most an 6-10 hp gain to the wheels if any. That's really not much. You would need to gut out the car to make it a sub 5 second car.

wishing h/e/i to drastically improve the time is really a wishful thinking man. you need a lot more to go there

shorter final drive gear ratio, tq converter, valve body upgrades, that's what will gain you real speed

Can a F430 seat four? We all wish that the car can do everything better than others and cost less. 0-60 in 5.3 was Corvette/911 territory only 10 years ago. Be content with what you have.

Just to put things into perspective, 15 years ago the first LS400 had a whopping 250hp from a 4.0L 1UZ-FE V8. That was plenty for it's time.

and it started at $36k, with 2 air bags, 8-speaker stereo (optional cd changer in the trunk), 15-in wheels/tires, and no HID. Car have come a long way, even for basic, el-cheapo ones.

Didnt some magazine test the car at 5.1 seconds. I bet if you could replicate that with stock tires, Drag radials will push you into the 4.9s

I believe the 5.1 was adjusted for the environment - I don't think an actual 5.1s run ever happened.

I don't think drag alone would make much difference. The car would need a manual transmission. This would allow for a high rpm clutch dump. With heated drag radials and high rpm clutch dump, the car would take off like a rocket.

I have drag radials on my 2000 Mustang GT 5 speed. By heating them up properly at the track, my 60ft. time went from 2.1 to 1.9. That equates to a big difference in your overall 1/4 mile track times - dropped me from 13.89 to 13.51 seconds.

well if you have a lot of power drag radials will help. someone got the e55 stock and put on drag radials and he got mad speed for 1/4 mile. basically when traction is a problem off the line, i think drag will help

but still, just using drag to push the car to sub 5, that's asking too much imho

its averaging... it the same sense, you can get better time than that if conditions are more favourable. You can some great runs on AT as well.

We will see as soon as more ppl start getting their IS350's :-)....

VDIM or do you mean VSC? VDIM really has no benefit going in straight line accelleration. TRAC OFF definitely.
