What is your real mpg? I am having trouble believing this
"The IS 250 rear-wheel drive Automatic (24 mpg city/32 mpg highway).
The IS 250 all-wheel drive (22 mpg city/28 mpg highway).
The IS 350 (21 mpg city/28 mpg highway).
The IS 250 six-speed (20 mpg city/29 mpg highway)."
How can a manual non AWD car get the worste gas mileage? I mean really how can that be? Is the manual on this car really that ****ty? I mean the 350 has a 100 more HP!!!! and it's getting aa bit better gas mileage. WTF?! I mean I can't understand this I have a AWD car right now and I can tell you this thing eat gas like nothing else I have a real hard time a 2wd car with the same horse power gets worse.
Please can you guys give me your real life mileages and come clarity on this?

The gearing on the Manual 2wd car is diffferent from the 6spd Auto gearing. Lexus has built a very efficent auto tranny that has a very low 6th gear ratio. Hence the high highway mpg ratings. FYI, the EPA ratings are merely estimates and not what you will actually get in your real world driving. The EPA estimates give you an idea what to expect out of that vehicle. It does not dictate your definitive fuel consumption as everyone's driving scenario is different.

This is actually more common than you think. There was a post on it a while back and I listed some cars that have this same situation with their manual and automatic EPA MPG.

I am getting about 29mpg for my entire tank. How many gallons does the car hold? Whenever i run my car so that the range gauge says 0 miles left i can only pump 15 gallons. The specs on teh car say that the tank is over 17 gallons so does this mean that when my gas light has been on for about 50 miles, and the range gauge is down to 0 that i still actually have 2 gallons of gas left in the tank?

You're not going to get your best gas mileage until you get that motor broke in good, about 20k miles.
I agree, don't run that tank dry. The gasoline in the tank keeps the electric fuel pump cool, (its inside the tank) so it won't burn up trying to keep fuel pressure up. Its expensive to drop the tank and replace a fuel pump these days.
I didn't buy this car for gas mileage. I'm after a Acura RL that lives down the road at the golf course. He's always passing my Jeep in the mornings going to work .
I don't think he'll be passing my 350 .
Use synthetic motor oil, that will help your gas mileage too .

i have 10xx miles on my car and im getting about 17 mpg (i always reset trip B every time i fill up and my last fill up lasted 275 mil with 25 miles left on the computer, so 300/17 is about 17.6). im probably accelerating it too fast everytime im on the freeway, its hard to have an is 350 and not go fast in it

I think you should double-check with Lexus (service department?) or your own owner manual on the use of 89 octane gasoline. I believe all IS's require premium, which is the 91/92 octane gasoline.. yes, the most expensive grade!

I've been getting about 20mpg on my IS350. Haven't really been hitting the gas too hard, but since I just hit over 1000 miles today, I think my mileage might go down for the next couple of weeks... just a little
