Default 18 inch wheels on IS 250 AWD

I am planning on getting an IS 250 AWD.

Can i put the 18inch staggered IS RWD rims on my IS 250?

No, it will interefere with the driveshaft in the rear, plus you want equal traction to the 4 tires anyway.

Should be able to, rule of thumb with AWD vehicles is to be consistent with all rim sizes - even different tires can screw up the system if the vehicle is sensitive enough.

Best of luck

There should be another thread out there (do search) that talks about 18x8 (front wheels) fitting front and back. The 18x8.5 (rear wheels) apparently do not fit.

I am interested in finding more information on this as well. I plan to purchase an AWD 250 so I can drive it all year around, but I can't get over those "Civic" looking wheels that come on the AWD. The wheel well gap and the skinny wheels really take away from the sporty look of the car..

Ideally, I would like to get a set of staggered 18's with performance tires for the summer months and use the stockers for the winter. If the staggered setup will mess up the computer on the AWD, I could settle for some 18's that are wider than the stock wheels to bring the wheel out flush with the fender. Anybody tried this setup on an AWD 250 yet?

TIA

Not quite.

You don't necessarily want equal traction to all 4 tires, but you DO want whatever the IS AWD was set up for. If the torque split is 50/50, and the stock wheel/tires were all the same size, i would stick with identical wheel/tire sizes.

In most cases, all else being equal, an AWD car with rearward biased traction performs better, but how the torque is distributed is really out of your hands at this point unless you have an EVO or an STI with a driver-controlled center differential.

Default Our factory Rep has the G-Spyder 18's...

installed on his AWD IS250. Not staggered but the front wheel spec. I think it's the same part no. as the GS300 G-Spyder 18's. It looks fine and works well. BTW the IS and GS AWD's have more power to the rear wheels normally (70%/30%) and can redirect to (50%/50%) automatically if needed. The AWD is a little taller in the saddle than the RWD so it has more gap.
