Center console
I am happy to have found this board. I am the happy owner of a new IS350, after trading in my GS300. Barring any major changes, it's Lexus for life for me. I have had horrible experiences with BMW and Mercedes, so there's no going back after the pleasure of owning a Lexus.
For the owner if the current IS, is it me, or is it impossible to use a power adapter in the center console without having the lid open?

hard to believe
It's hard to believe that they designed it that way. I keep thinking that there must be a way around it, but short of finding a 90-degree adapter i'm stumped.

In the audi tt it is the same thing. no power adapter, you have to use the cigarette lighter. But when you do that you can't close the ashtray. And the ashtray hangs down below the radio. Looks horrrrible.

I found a flat ipod adapter at best buy that allows the center console to close 29.99...don't know if that's what you were looking to plug in? If not I noticed that Wal-Mart had a short corded aux plug in with a female end that would work as well for cell phone etc...

Ipod not as big a problem
I can get the armrest to close with my Ipod plugged into the aux input, but the cell phone power cords stick up too high for the armrest to close.

Hello, I just went to Radio Shack to address this problem for my Ipod and found a cigarette adapter extension that folds 90 degrees and allows you to close the center consolw with no problem. I tested it before buying it and works very well plus I get to pwer my cell and Ipod at the same time. oh yah, it will only cost you less than 8 bucks.

Good luck. I also found a nice Ipod carrier and it was only a promo piece from Scion through Sion evolution. Cool gadget and works well wit the IS. I will post pix later.
