I read this post from start to finish..(skimmed rather) but how is it that every young IS driver (15-19) manages to pay for this car in full by themselves? Every one..except for one who got it as a birthday present. PLEASE tell me wat the hell your doing to buy an approx. 40k car on your own...
I'm not doubting..just incredibly curious
I'll turn 19 in a few months..I hate saying I'm 18 with a 350...and my parents bought this car for me. I'm very fortunate to be driving this car and having a blast doing it...but the dirty looks on the road or attempted key jobbers don't help.

and i actually do pay it myself, only money my parents through in is the deposit to hold the car for me, which was only 500 dollars.

And...you guys are so lucky !

IM 18 and pay for it its very simple i work + pay no rent = nice car if u can manage money... I currently have a tl i pay for and the insurance while i wait for my is350... But you have to remmeber in my case or i think anyones case the car is not under my credit or my name so the insurance prices are for my father in which they are still high but not as high as an 18yr old doing it 100% by himself...
people say how can u afford it but its easy when a car note and cell phone and internet bill is all you have to pay... no one ever looks at the whole picture... hopefully now u can all understand

I drive 20-25k miles annually, so I can't see spending alot on a car that is much more than $35k--too much depreciation after 3-4 years; also, I wanted excellent reliability, stylish (new) design, upscale interior (IS just blows the competiton away), AWD, and the latest electronics (push button start, etc. The IS was the only car in this price range that met every requirement.
I'm a bit of a car fanatic, so I spent a fair amount of time researching before I bought the IS.
Other cars in the stable:
1966 Mustang Convertible -Red/289 4V/GT Exhaust/Auto-Ground up restoration completed a few months ago
2001 BMW 325XI/Auto Silver
2000 Honda Accord 2Dr EX V6
2000 Toyota Sienna XLE
20003 Saturn VUE AWD V6 (for Sale)

I had a friend who crashed his car so his parents made him pay them to have their old Camry.
