Aesthetics, performance (manual transmission), smooth precise feel, functionality, and reliability. Unfortunately, I'm not convinced that it will be as reliable as I'd hoped (carbon buildup, creaking seats, creaking dash, etc.)

wanted a batter car, my ford focus i had was a piece of crap, car shuddered like crap, i was debating for my car weather to go with a infiniti g37 or is250, i decided to go with the is250, my friend let me drive hers, and i loved the way it drove, smooth, great performance from a 2.5 liter v6, reliable, after i drove hers i was like i want it, so i saved up 5K for mine and got mine on xmas day of last year december 25th 2013 as a gift from my parents i was not EXPECTING TO get on that day, i was so happy!

My father wanted me to get a Porsche 911, but I wanted a cheaper and more practical car since I was in high school. The IS350 was only ~45k out the door vs nearly over $90k.

Over budget BUt im happy with it!
The IS350 is not better than the S2000. Comparing apples to oranges. In the fun factor, the S2000 blows the IS350 out of the water. I own both cars, but I prefer to drive the S2000 if I do not need to carry things. If I am tired and just want to relax (don't want noise) I will drive the IS350.

I bought mine used and the fact that I am the only one that have an IS350 F Sport in town. There are so many other Lexus as well but not F Sport. I went with the IS350 F Sport because I like how it's designed. It's a pretty much used for cruising and when it comes to taking the back roads or clover leaf ramps. It suits me real well, although I come from a guy that drives and has done a lot of track time with AWD cars. But maybe a little off topic but does anyone have pics of a IS350 with all of the F Sport goodies?

I was looking for an AWD sedan that wasn't a Subaru. I'm also a big fan of Toyota so going to Lexus seemed the right choice.

Same here. I wanted a new DD and I had 3 rules, It NEEDS to be AWD, NEEDS to look great under all conditions (fancy night out, beach day, etc), and needs cheap/reasonable maintenance.

I originally wanted to get a WRX but it was impossible to find a unmodified one or one where the engine hasnt been blown or replaced, OR I was gonna DD my Accord and get a 2nd car (S2k, or M3). I couldn't decide what I wanted to do til I found this deal of a life time on my IS. Guy from Cali moves to NYC (mid town Manhattan) and was paying 600 a month to garage it, and another 600 a month to insure it on a car he barely drove. I threw him a low ball offer and he surprisingly took it because the car was already costing him more

Yeah, I was out looking for WRX and decided to test drive an IS with the premium package (I think) and loved it. I later found a decent WRX, test drove it and hated how cheap everything felt. I ended up missing my chance on the first IS I test drove but found the one I bought, a base model, and am still much happier in it than I would've been in the WRX.
