Default spark plugs help is350

Should I change my plugs at 40000 miles. I had the car for 6 years, brought it new. Going to take the car for the vtt recall. I have no luck with the dealers, Modesto and Fresno are charging me $160 just for the plugs. should I wait or let them change it. any tips would be appreciate.

160 is a lot for plugs change. Its not hard at all.

If you had the car for 6 years and never changed the plugs, I would do it regardless of the mileage. Im the type of person that doesn't trust anything that sits in a car for more than a year or 2 so if you can do it, I suggest you do it

Get the plugs on Sewell and DIY. It's not that hard.

I agree on the DIY; on the IS350 it is REALLY easy! The money you save from not having the dealership doing it, you can purchase the tools needed to do the replacement yourself and keep the tools for a lifetime.

I agree the plugs can be purchased from Sewell Lexus or on ebay for a better price than any other dealership.

40,000 is too low, i would not change them. i did mine at 62,000 but i truly believe the plugs are good for 100,000 miles. my next change will be at 162,000.

Is it true that the plugs are easier to replace on the 350 versus the 250?

You are correct, the 250 is a lot more involved as the upper intake manifold needs to come off to perform the change. I actually just did this service two weeks ago to my sisters 250 along with changing her water pump.
