I wrapped it in one peice. It was easy and looked pretty cool so I just left it that way honestly

Thanks to this thread and another thread, I did my interior late last night. I started around 10 pm and was done around 2 am, lol but well worth it after all said and done! I have no experience in this what so ever, it wasn't too bad though.

I've search and could not find a pic of a 6 speed wrapped to get ideas. Took a shot, I wrapped my steering wheel controls, steering wheel emblem, all window switches, ashtray cover, and only the cup holder and cover. I left the black trim around my shifter and around the e-brake. I kept the pattern going all the same way.

I think it turned out great, subtle, not too much CF. Sorry for the horrible pic, not too much light in my garage.

So how is it holding up? Any peeling or other problems?

Great job! If I had the plain grey pieces I would've done it this way with real cf. Looks legit!

^Planning on doing genuine CF fabric covered with epoxy and then clear coated in the future... for under $20 I wanted to see if I liked the look of it though, so vinyl was the perfect choice.

Hey zmcgovern4, I have seen some of your great detailing work on autogeek.. I got a question for you.. the plastic trim where it displays the gears (P N D S) is scratched up and I want to polish that out. Do you have any advice how to tackle that piece?

You can polish plastic just like you polish paint... the process/idea is exactly the same.

Since that piece of plastic you are referring to is so tiny, you will need to do it by hand. You can try a product like Meguiar's PlasticX (available at most autoparts stores) or, if you already have another type of polish you could use that too.

Apply polish to a foam applicator (or MF Towel if you need something more aggressive) and rub back and forth quickly with moderate to heavy pressure. Wipe clean to inspect the results. Repeat as necessary.

*My plastic piece has a clear "sticker" over it for protection... yours may have that as well. If that is the case, you can try to polish the scratches out of the sticker, or you can remove the sticker to expose the plastic underneath.

thanks zmcgovern4, I'll give my HD polish a try - or step up to OHC if that doesn't work before pulling a trigger for a bottle of Meguiar's PlasticX
