For 09+ I think you can just hold the trac off button for like 10 seconds...much easier for us :P

The traction control button was introduced for 2007 models. Only the '06 owners have to do the "pedal dance".

Just curious, was this technique publicly released by Lexus? Or did someone accidentally figure it out?

i have an 06 and honestly there shouldve been a recall on this. when im in an intersection or driveway and trying to turn, i step on the gas, tire breaks traction, vsc kicks in and cuts power for a few seconds. while all this is happening, oncoming cars are getting dangerously close while i wait there in the middle of the intersection for the computer to kick back power to the wheels.

now everytime im about to do a u-turn or get out of a driveway i make sure to hit that "trac" button.

There was a post on this forum not too long ago where the guy says he turn off traction control every time he drives out because he doesn't like how it cuts power, then he crashes his car and regret it.

My '08 seems to be fine, though I think it's little too aggressive -- the tire never squeaks.

Is there anyway to make it so the dash won't keep switching back to "Trac Off" every couple seconds?

My 08 has that button beside the steering wheel. When I press it after starting my car, I get that light on the instrument cluster, but it always goes away after I drive a little bit. Any way I can keep the traction control off?

hold the traction control button for 5 sec to completely shut it off. If you just push it and let go.. traction control will come back on if you go 30mph+

The 2006 does have the traction control off button, but traction control kicks back in at 30 MPH. What was introduced in 2007 was the ability to hold the button for more than 5 seconds to prevent the re-engagement at 30 MPH.

Lexus never intended this mode to be used for driving. It was intended to be used when measuring performance on a dynomometer.

you can keep it off when driving all day if you want.
When the car is in park, hold down the traction control button for about 10-15 seconds and it will be off the whole ride until you turn off the car. It's pretty fun on some days

The button was not present at all on 06 AWD models.
