When did you have your waterpump replaced?

Water pump is tricky, you can have a leak and not be aware of it if dealer topped up the fluids once in a while. The only way to know for sure is by opening the plastic flap used for oil filter change and looking up through there. A small leak will give you coloured crystals right under the pump.
That's impossible to see if you just open the hood.
Based on that i had mine replaced under warranty at 98k km (about 60k miles) with the only sign being lower coolant level.
Checking the water pump is a must every time you change the oil and have the chance to look up that opening under the engine. And again, it is covered under the powertrain warranty.

my 06 350 is at 86000 miles and my pump is failing right now. I noticed it a few weeks ago when i heard this low grinding noise at idle, which I assume is the bearing going bad, my fluid level has not gone down any so I guess the seals are still holding, but I am still going to replace it before it starts leaking. There are a few threads on the subject if you do a search, here is one where a guy mentions where you can get a replacement for cheap (rockauto.com) and also a somewhat DIY writeup.

165k after coolant flush..my water pump is good as gold according to the SA....I wonder if theres a difference in which plant your car came from....I kow it's all the same but what if the machine or tech that was putting the water pumps together was having an off day...just a thought, I'm no expert but it's hard to see how some water pumps held up and some didn't....

To check your coolant...pop the hood and look for the cap with "coolant" on it...it's right behind the radiator or where the radiator cap would be on an old car....it has a line that says full and a rubber tube, that I assume is supposed to used as a dipstick or an instrument of measurement for the coolant level...after 165k mine was pretty low so I had a coolant flush which is recommended atb155k...
I may be wrong but that's what I say in the manual and how I checked mine....
