My replacement air filter from Sewell had different "ribs" than the original. It still fit ok and seems to be working but not sure if anyone else has seen this.
yup my new one from them had less with more space than the old dirty one. fits the same. I still can't believe people not knowing these easy 5 min changes spend over $200 at a dealer for this to be done. It's as easy as putting a new roll of toilet paper on.

Lucky you, just found out it broken by someone long ago.
Now I stuck with it, but plan just to leave as is...

Default DIY air filter engine cover instructions....

On my 2012 IS 250 that one screw on the right on the passenger side engine cover over the air filter housing doesn't seem to be just a screw. I am having trouble getting it off. The screw seems to be covered by some kind of plastic and though using a screw driver feels like it loosens the screw contained within the plastic cover it doesn't seem to come loose in away that releases the cover.

Anyone else have this experience and if so, hints about to remove or loosen the "screw" such that the engine cover can be removed?

Thanks!

do we need to leave the car on after we change it to circulation mode or can we turn the car off and then do the cabin filter swap?

Set it to recirculate and then turn it off.
