They're the microfibre "sport cloth" seats that you can get in Canada. The material is an Italian microfibre called Cellensia. I love the material so much (not a big leather fan), but wish they were power. Still almost as adjustable, and quite a bit lighter, but I'd still prefer power, lol. I wish cloth seats were more common in nicer cars here in North America, in Europe you can get Cellensia power/heated seats. I would love those.

I guess I'd settle for some Leather/Alcantara IS F / ISx50 F-Sport seats.

Jeff have you considered getting a set of power seats and transfering your covers onto them? I'm not sure if you're familiar with the show wheeler dealers and they did this mod on an M3 they were fixing up to sell.

Yes I've considered it. Haven't come across any yet though.

Nice write up Jeff! This is something that I wouldn't have the guts to attempt. But you did a great job! Excellent work!

Jeff, I found out what my co-worker meant.

The snake as in the windshield seal. May not be pressed hard enough in comparison to factory against leak.

Maybe back in the old days but current days guess but no longer a problem?

Modern windshields are no longer installed using such a method. Ever since switching to bonded adhesives they haven't really done it like that.

We're talking old school here.

Jeff Lange - maintaining the pursuit of perfection.

I've read Toyota factory service manuals and seen how Toyota says to do it, and I've seen installers do glass knowing full well they are not following the same prescription. Very well done Jeff!

As JoeZ said, I think I need to do this to my F. Same problem as everyone else - heavily pitted after multiple track events and over 100k miles of driving.

Unfortunately just got another crack in my windshield. Looks like I'll be repeating this process again shortly here.

Holy ****, you're nuts!

I've got a LOT of chips and pits in my glass, to the point that it is difficult to see when the sun is shining on it. I have tried clay bar and glass polish, but no luck.

The only reason I haven't gotten mine replaced is because of all the reasons you mentioned. Every time I get a windshield done, something is not done correctly or something is damaged and it is always a fight to get them to correct the issue.

Unfortunately, I don't have ***** big enough to do this job myself.
