Most miles driven in one tank. MPG.

I drive a manual 250. Like all cars it depends what the temperature is outside and what gas mix you use.
During the summer I usually receive 30-33 mpg for the whole tank. That's a mix of city and highway. I've done a few full tanks in the summer of all highway miles, and got 34-35mpg. It was awesome. One time on a freak day where the wind was going my direction, I went a whole tank doing 38mpg. It was epic (a/c and radio on).
Now during the winter, I receive 25mpg on the highway. But, my lifetime average is 28.3mpg.
To answer the OP's question, I've gone over 500 miles per tank plenty of times in the summer. I usually fill up at around 470 miles though. The tank average calculation on the dash is usually off by 1mpg.

Here is mine. More realistic results, this is with a reading of about 6 miles left on the range approx. Almost was able to push 400 miles but not quite this time. This is probably due to more city driving since a family member had to borrow my car; I think the gas is still on the winter blend too.

Most miles on a tank? 485. When I took a road trip up and down Cali. Had 17 miles left too, so I could have hit 500, but I wont run it that low.

With my usual commutes, I usually squeeze out around 420 miles in a tank when the light comes on. Lately I haven't been driving it down that far though and i've been filling it up when it gets to 1/4 tank more often.

Wow... I can't compete with those numbers. Highest mileage per tank I have gotten in TX was about 380.
Sorry, I'm a lurker more than an advent member but this is a good topic.

Good question!
New years I drove up to Canada and got an average of 400. Most I got was 420 miles to the tank!
...down here I get 280 max @_@
Also yeah, showing the tank mileage is bs. During fillup just divide the total miles since last fillup and divide by the number filled.
