Fat Mat instead of Dynamat.... Is it worth it
I think I am going to order the Fat Mat Rattle Trap and deck out the Lexus... Has anyone ever used it... it gets good reviews... Im worried about if there is any smell on hot days... I had Dynamat, and it melted under my carpet in my old Trans Am.... Any input would be helpful...
And NO I wont use the stuff from Home Depot... Smells like your laying asphalt in the store... I could only imagine a hot day in my trunk.

I have second skin damplifier in our spare car and it is great stuff.
My friends who compete in car audio recommended it to me and it is worth it.
They have other products specifically designed to correct rattling as opposed to dampening vibration.

Yep, Second Skin is the BEST! I've used most, if not all, of thier products and have been nothing but impressed. After two years of 105 degree summer heat, no smell AT ALL in the cabin and has never lost adhesion. On a side note: While installing it, it actually smells good, lol.

Depends entirely on how much you add.
In fractional 1sq ft panels or smaller chunks, you can do a pretty good job for not too much weight. Damplifier pro is a little thinner/lighter than straight damplifier.
If you're going to cover every available piece of metal, yes, it will add weight.
If you want to do every square inch and you want to minimize the additional weight, you want lizard skin which requires a sprayer and as much disassembly as you wanna do, but is also great stuff. www.lizardskin.com (ignore the as seen on tv, the competitive audio guys all use this stuff).

Negligible for that amount of coverage.
Lining the floor and doors will help with that. But the 2IS is a pretty quiet car given its weight, i haven't seen one opened up but I'd be surprised if you could find a lot of room to add more material without removing some of the factory sound dampening.
I know our jeep grand cherokee limited had batting in literally every possible space.
