Default oil level on dipstick

can anyone tell me roughly where the oil level should be on the dipstick straight after a service? my car is in for a service at the dealers and straight after i would like to check the dipstick to see the oil level and monitor how much it drops by next service.

Is it normal for engine oil to burn and get low on the IS250?

Oil level will be between the two marks on the dip stick and, yes, the oil level will fall as oil is consumed. Short of oil smoke coming out of the tail pipe, an engine can consume quite a bit of oil and still be "ok". The oil level in my engine goes down about 1 qt. between 5,000 mile oil changes.

The top dot is FULL and the bottom dot is 1 quart lower.

My GS also burns about 1 quart every 5k miles. I have 209k on the engine.

Check the fluid after about 15 minutes of engine shut down. So the oil can make its way back into the pan, and always check on a flat service.
