Default Card Key for 2008 or earlier IS250?

Does anyome have the smart CARD (the credit card/wallet version) of the smart key for a 2008 or earlier IS250... I went to the dealer and they told me that that the card key isnt compatible with my model year.... I know they sell it on Sewell so please only respond if you HAVE one programmed to your 2008 or earlier IS

thanks!

I got mine through Sewell.

I did have some issues with getting the correct part (because the one they sent me, which was based on my VIN was incorrect). That led to my dealership thinking it might be defective, etc., but eventually corporate stepped in and helped get the situation resolved.

How did corporate help resolve it? Was the dealer ultimately able to program the key or did you need a different one?

I was in a situation where no one wanted to resolve the situation. Sewell (who provides some great Lexus products @ competitive prices) was under the impression they gave me the right part (based on my VIN).

My local dealership was following the normal programming steps for smart cards and couldn't get it to work, so they were convinced it was defective (or not supported since they hadn't tried a smart card on an IS before).

I was left in the middle with no where to turn. Lexus corporate did some research (probably in conjunction with Sewell) and found out it was the wrong part. Sewell did an exchange of the part and my local dealership programmed it.

No problems since then and it's been about 2 years.

Joseph - just received your call...the card key we have on our site works just fine.

Rebs deal was a completely different issue to which it was us that made the mistake. It was a mistake that happened a couple years ago that we find ourselves reading over and over in various threads.

2006 to 2008 IS Smart cards are all the same.

I hope that helps.

I think I only had 1 thread about the issue, and then mentioned it once in here. I wasn't even convinced it was your fault (cause I think the issue was the VIN brought up the wrong part number).

You know I love ya guys :-D

It helps a lot... Thank You. I just wanted to confirm because I feel like the dealership just ordered the wrong key.
