Default Thinking About Wrapping my car

Well i had this idea to wrap my car for a while now but im confident that i can do it myself. Its real hard to maintain a black car and when ever i see something new on the paint i feel so bad.

So i thought about doing it matte black. It will take me some time cuz im not about to do it all at once. What do u guys think?

I don't think this is a job for someone if it's your first time wrapping. Maybe try wrapping the fender to see how difficult the curvature is. I know what you mean about black....sucks, but looks bad azz when clean!

yea, true but i do have some experience with vinyl. I installed racing stripes on my friends car, blacked out the taillights on my car myself and also did the eyelids.

Obviously if i do decide to do it ill do the easy areas first then work my self to the harder areas.

If you have A LOT of patience and buy good quality vinyl, i don't see it being a problem. My uncle wraps cars all the time at his business, sometimes he charges as much as $5-6k a pop but he uses the best quality film and takes his sweet time doing it.

I wanted to do my old car in a flat white color actually - something unique. The advice he gave me was to spend the extra $$$ for good quality film and do the car over a weekend, not in a day.

Personal opinion - i don't like matte black on a luxury car unless you go the "tuner" style with it. That's just my opinion though If your gonna do it, take your time and post pics

If I was to wrap my car, I'd try to get something close to this. Flat/Matte Blue

thats one heck of a project. i tried doing a gloss vinyl grill wrap project myself and i failed miserably, given it was my first time wrapping anything . it was really hard getting around the curves and bends. it could have been the type of vinyl i used as it didnt conform to the shape so easily (i just went for the cheap stuff found on ebay). i ended up scrapping the project. if there's anything i learned from this experience, it's that reading DIY on the forums makes projects look alot easier than it actually is, and pick a good quality (expensive) vinyl that wont make your life a living hell.

Have you tried installing clear bra for front bumper?... that would be the hardest part of wrapping. It took me almost 5 - 6 hours to do that part. Hood took about about an hour or 2. But I'm using the prec-cut pieces... if you are doing the slicing, it would take even longer.
