IS250 hard "jerk" when put in D
well I read some posts about jerking on stops and shaking when idling and I understand that part, but I noticed that every time when I *cold* start the car and right when I put the gear in D, the car jerks pretty hard. This doesn't happen when the car is all warmed up though. Is this normal? I'm sorry if this is another FAQ, but I just wanna make sure before my warranty is over. Thanks guys.

You don't have to let your car sit there in idle, that's just wasting gas and time for no reason. Just keep your RPMs low until it's warmed up and you're fine.
I shift into drive immediately and have never had a problem with jerking. OP, I would tell your dealer about this problem.

You seem to have two options, A. let the car idle a bit longer from now on and/or B. take it to the dealer. GL.

I get a jerk, but only when cold, in manual mode, and coming to a stop below 3 mph or leaving from a stop and lifting off the brake. Dealer said all was normal. Since it only happens when in manual mode, I have to conclude it's something with the computers.
The owner's manual actually says not to let the car warm up. As people have said, just drive it lightly and everything settles down.
