Will it rub on rear unrolled fender
It is getting close to time to switch tires.
If I run 18x8 in the rear with +15mm offset, current tires is 225/35/18 and I have 1 pinky gap, and vertically the tire wall is about half a finger from the fender.
I am thinking of going with fatter and racier looking tires sized 235/40/18 which will give me 3.7" of tire wall as oppose to currently 3.1" sidewall. The tires will also more squared now that its wider.
Any one with similar sized setup care to comment?

assuming you have aftermarket wheels? 8" in the rear looks waaaaay too narrow.
but to your question, yes you should rub because that extra 10mm (from 225 to 235) on the tire on your +15 offset will cause is to rub against the unmodded fender.
so either stick with the 225/35 or if you must go the 40 series, i'de suggest 215/40. im not too sure if 225/40 will rub with +15 on an 8 but i know 215/40 won't.

Yeah 8" looks really narrow but it does save money when it comes to tires and a peace of mind having the AWD lol.
Hrm that's not good then, because I was thinking of running thicker and juicier looking tires rather than just a higher tire wall ratio
I wanted to go with this look for tires:
But mine right now is too rounded and not aggressive enough for my tastes:

Wheel Specs Question for our 2nd Gen ISx50
Hi guys,
I posted a thread in the wheels and tire section, but didn't get a response. Thought I'd try my luck here.
I'm interested in these volks posted on the wheel classified section: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/whe...-gunmetal.html
The only thing stopping me is the rear is 19x8.5. After looking through countless threads of wheel specs, seems like most people run 19x9.5s in the rear.
After numerous talks with the seller and AK-47, it seems like getting a staggered setup for my RWD can be accomplished by putting on larger tires in the rear, e.g. 255/35ZR19.
Also, just to confirm, the wheels "heyitzalex" are selling will not rub correct? I am lowered on f-sport springs.
Could someone be so kind as to inform me on what the difference is between a 19x8.5 vs. 19x9.5 as in, what is 8.5 and 9.5?
One last question for now, how would you guys think 19x8.5s would look all around? It doesn't matter to me if the wheels are flushed with the fender or not.
Thanks guys!

19x8.5 means it's 19" by 8.5" wide....if you are having the 18" wheel option in ur RWD which i think you do.... you would have a 8.5" rim wide behind.... and i think it is okay to get those if you are lowered on F-Sport springs as it does only have a conservative drop.... i don't think the staggered term can be manipulated through the use of larger tires... it is due to wider rims.... yeah.... as to how it will look like.. it will look the same from behind.. but definitely much better from the sides =)

With a +35 offset and 8.5" width in front, it will be fine. But at 8.5" in the rear on the same offset, it will look a little sunken in. It shouldn't rub. You may actually want to put a spacer on the back to bring the wheel out.
