Default Burping Cooling System with Funnel

I'm going to be burping my system after refilling coolant. I've got myself a spill free funnel. Just wanted to check the following:

1. Bubbles should eventually stop coming from the raised funnel coolant? I shouldn't get even small bubbles?

2. Once bubbles have completely stopped, I believe the coolant level in the funnel will rise a bit. So do I just turn car off and leave coolant in funnel and wait until level drops before removing funnel? Or do I plug the funnel and remove and close the radiator cap? Problem with this is that as coolant cools and the vacuum it creates will it not want more coolant or will this come from the expansion bottle anyway?

3. Do I need to recheck level in the radiator cap after it has completely cooled?

Thanks

I changed my waterpump today and used the spill-free funnel to burp the system. I filled coolant about just under half way upto the funnel to raise the coolant level. Started the car and put heating on full and maintained 2.5k rpm for about 25mins until bubbles stopped completely and engine reached operating temp.

I then let it idle which is at about 800rpm. But on idle i started getting very small air bubbles coming for quite some time. Eventually they stopped coming on idle too. But I then noticed that if i rev the car and as I come off the rev and the rev drops, i get a swirl in the coolant and some very small air bubbles still come out. I kept doing this for a further 40mins. If i let car idle, i get no bubbles, if i rev it, i get no bubbles, but as i release rev i get the small bubbles coming up the funnel. I'm going to let the car sit overnight and try and burp it again tomorrow.

Anyone have any suggestions? is it actually possible to have that much air that it takes that long for them to come out slowly?

Sounds like you're just being WAY too picky. From the description that you gave on what you have done, you should be fine.

LOL. ok so small amounts of bubble is normal after that long then i take it. I was just under the impression that no bubbles should be coming out.
