nope, it'll always switch to recirculate whenever you start the car.
not sure if this will work, but what if you keep the automatic climate control off, and just manually control fan speed and AC? maybe it will stay in outside air mode that way.

I never use Auto (trying to prevent it from choosing the recirculated air). I've always controlled it manually and still goes back to recirculate.

I believe you can have that changed. I think it is a setting when you have your LPS settings done. I does that so the a/c will removed the hot air from inside of the car first.

what slee said its a LPS setting. the car comes pre-set on outside air when the car is first started in AUTO. but if you turn the temp down to a certain temperature the car will go into re-circulating mode automatically. also if the temp is at a higher level it will go into the fresh air mode.

my car just started acting up when i unplugged the nav system to do the navtool mod. I had it programmed to be manually selected but it looks like the system reset.
Do any lexus techs here know if this happens when you disconnect the power? I was under the impression that it would have programmed the main HVAC computer not the controls on the nav screen.
Anyway this is annoying me cuz I had it set to manual during LPS for a reason.

i mentioned this earlier in this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...lows-warm.html
it seems as though it has to do with the car being parked in the sun. b/c when i park it in the shade, it does my wish. but for some reason, when the car is burning hot, it wants to keep it that way! but now i've stopped parking in the sun. so it's all good.

It try to keep mine on recirculate. I specifically make sure the air source isn't in auto. It'll stay that way for a few days then I'll notice an odor in the cabin and look down to see it's switched its self to "outside" mode.

I had mine set via LPS to stay in whatever circulation mode i pressed even under AUTO. It's always stayed that way since I set it.
One theory I think it might be is the outside temperature. I have never really driven the car when the temperature was less than 40 degrees. It started doing switching between fresh air and recirculate when I was driving back from atlanta and the outside temp was in the 30's. It even switched it when my A/C was in off. So it might have something to do with outside temp.
I started the car this morning, the temperature read 54 degrees and the recirculate mode was still on. But after driving the gauge showed 37 degrees and it switched to fresh air mode with all HVAC function off. Straight huh?
