Default Smoked taillights. Perfect install! 56k WARNING!! =D

Hey guys, havent posted on here for awhile, been busy, but I wanted to post some pix of the smoke vinyl taillight install that me and my friend did. Took us about 1.5 hours to finish the job. Was pretty smooth from start to finish. Did it around end of January. Got the film precut for cheap on ebay from a guy name firearm01. Much better than painting your taillights imo. Finally had a chance to take some pix.

The camera actually makes it darker than it seems. It is NOT that dark. It is not blackout, it is smokeout.

I had my tails redout for a whole year plus. Was getting tired of the look so wanted to do something different for a change. I REALLY like this look right now and it only cost me about $40 to do this. I can always take them out and redo the reds if I change my mind. Thats whats modding is all about!

When installing the vinyl, you will definitely need another person helping you. The blow dryer is your friend, so use it often when installing the vinyl. It will help line up the curves on this taillight. Heat up the vinyl for about 3-4 seconds on hot air so that you can stretch the vinyl then flatten it against the surface of the taillight. Its kind of hard to explain unless I am physically doing it, hope you get the idea though.

That is a huge contrast!

If you can pull it off, go for it! Make sure you do limo tints on the windows and get black wheels...

Dude once you start off with the hair dryer you will get the hang of it. Once the vinyl is heated it becomes relaxed so once you place it over the curve, it contures with it. MAke sure you have a credit card or squeege wrapped in a thin cloth to help you sit the vinyl down with. This also helps alot. Once you sit the vinyl down blow it with the hair dryer again so the the water underneath drys up a bit, dont hold it the just go over the area a couple of times with it. I hope you get my point, its a very easy install.
