Default Aftermarket Double Din

Please don't flame me but I have looked through the forum for a couple of days now and I could not find in details about installing a double din nav in my non-nav IS250.

I would like to have a nav screen with bluetooth, ipod, and rear camera. Some people said they took it to the shops to install but I was wondering if anyone has done the install themselves and is willing to guide me and other fellow CL members.

I would also like a suggestion on which HU to install. My first priority is the ease of install. Or if there is an audio shop that can install it in the Northern VA, DC area, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

No. I am thinking about spending $1500 total Pioneer setup (AVIC D3 + BT + IPOD + CAMERA) or similar Eclipse setup

I have looked up that thread. All that says is that there is a new headunit installed by an audio shop. Nothing in detail on how I go about installing it myself.

To break down, here is the information that I need:

- How do I go about taking out the dash without big scars left behind?
- Does it require a special mount? (I don't care about the pieces missing on the sides)
- Any harnesses required?

- For the camera, does it require me to drill hole on the trunk?
- How do I get the power source?

And if anyone has done it themselves in the Northern VA, DC, MD area and is willing to help me out, please PM me. Thanks.

I would go with the AVIc Z2 it comes with blue tooth and back up camera for around $2k at crutchfield(was looking for my other car). I would take it to safe&sound i believe it is in chantilly. I have seen much of their work on other vehicles and it is great they are going to most likely be adding some stuff for my factory nav here soon.

Thanks. I will try to get in contact with them. Hopefully they can do it. D3 will be around $1000 and Z2 is $2000. I haven't bought anything yet so I am still deciding on how much I really want to spend. (How much I'll get back from taxes :P)
