Default Need a new keyfob for newly purchased 2011 IS

Hello, Long time lurker, but here goes my first post.

I just purchased a 2011 IS250. It only came with one fob.

The search feature failed to help me find any useful information on making a new one.
Could someone please point me to the procedure?

From what I can ascertain there are 3 components? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

1) the fob itself (lock / unlock buttons etc)
2) the immobilizer bit
3) the metal "emergency" key

I've heard there is a guy that will cut a new #3 from a photo you email him of your existing key.
How to contact him?

Also, a link and instructions on how to purchase and program #1 and #2. I have access to Techstream software if necessary.

Thanks!!
Tracy

The more I read the more confused I get.
The fob I have for my 2011 IS250 is marked:

FCC ID: HYQ14AEM
IC: 1551A-14AEM
COFETEL RCPDE1409-1162

The circuit board inside is labeled G N E

When I go to the popular website and enter in 2011 IS250, it tells me the one I need is different.

It says I need a 2009-2011 HYQ14AAB with a E board.

When I do a search on the FCC ID on my key, it tells me it is for a 2012-2013, not a 2011. ?!

Is the website wrong, or is my 2011 really rigged to use a 2012-2013 key somehow?

but the circuit board is a GNE, not a G, so it's not just the cover that is different.

I'm having a replacement key sent to me from a prominent online seller.
Here is what they needed from me:
Pictures of:
  • Fob outside, front and back
  • Fob circuit board, front and back
  • the emergency key, up close
  • build sticker in door jamb
  • driver's license
  • vehicle registration
They are going to send me a used fob that has been "virgin reset" so it will program into my car as a new fob without needing to perform any immobilizer reset.
They are also going to cut the emergency key to match my photo.
The cost is $130 ... $95 for the fob and $35 to cut the emergency key.

I'll update the forum on how it goes once I program it in with Techstream.

I received the new "used but virgin reset" fob yesterday and added it in today with Techstream without issue.

I now have 2 working fobs!

Seller was Stu's EZ auto remotes.

I found them on Ebay as they offer a "virginizing" service for our remotes for $15. This allows a previously used fob to be re-used as if it was brand new and never before joined to a car.

I called them and they informed me they also sell the fobs.

To receive a fob I had to send them several photographs of the existing working fob as well as my VIN tag, driver's license and registration.
They also cut a new emergency key from a photo I sent them of the existing emergency key.... and it works!
Using Techstream to add the new key was a 5 minute cakewalk after watching a youtube video. All you need is a laptop, the software and an OBD2 cable.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking around and the lowest I get is around $230 which is stiff for a spare. Your option is so much better and it has been proven to work. I do have Techstream, too.

Last question though, was this a buy it now item?

There was no auction for the fob, they only had auctions for the virginzing process on your existing fob. My initial plan was to buy a used fob and ship it to them for virginizing.
I messaged them through Ebay and dealt with them directly over phone for the transaction and they provided the fob and emergency key as well.
