Default Q on what bulbs I need. (trust me I've searched)

Guys, I intend to take my car to a company tomorrow to install new DRL bulbs and fog lights. I have the stock Xenons with AFS but I am tired of the yellow DRL and fogs. I've been reading many threads about the bulbs and I'm still confused on some things.

From what I gather, I need 9005 H3s or 9006s. I don't remember which one fits where though. Plus in the headlight housing, there are two bulbs. The one up top is the DRL, but what is the other one?

I've been to a local auto parts store who have Nokya's at 7000k. I can get them for about $17 a set. IIRC, they are 80w. Is that too much power? Would these be a good choice?

Please help me solve this so I can get these mods done tomorrow and end my misery!

You didnt search hard enough. The thread is posted right in the 2IS FAQ sticky... This might help some though.

Okay. So the DRL, or 9005 light.... what is the meaning of H3, H11, etc. And does the 80w matter?

Is it true my high beam won't be as bright at night if I go with a bulb such as a 7000k?

What exactly is the city light? When is it on and should I change them all at once?

Well guys I went to one automive shop who specializes in luxury vehicles such as Porsche, MB, Ferrari, etc. They said they will not install these types of bulbs as they melt inside the housing and ruin everything. Is this true for our vehicle at all?

80watt halogen bulbs will run MUCH hotter than the stock ones. the stocks are rated at around 50watts. i would NOT put 80watt bulbs in these headlights.

have you ever felt a 50watt bulb after its been on for even just a few minutes? if not, then yea... it gets too hot to touch.

IMHO, go to the Vendor Marketplace forum and look for the GB by Xenondepot. Better yet, PM or call Xenondepot and talk to the Light experts, they prolly forgot more than we'll ever know about Hids and halogen bulbs and stuff. . .

What are you wanting to know?

HIDs are D4S, you can tell if you have hids very easy, just goto your car open the car do and turn on the lites, if you hear a buzz its D4S HID's, if you dont hear a buzz you have H11 Halogens, you dont even have to walk to the front to look.
