Default Anyone Wished They Had Gotten the GS Instead?

I was given a GS300 to drive while going through the initial hassle with my 06' while Lexus decided what they were going to do for me.

I must say the GS300 was nice and that 3 liter ran pretty good also.

Was everyone set on the IS or did you consider any other models from Lexus before ultimately deciding on the IS?

Just curious, my wife loves the IS, but I think for me, I'd probably prefer the GS.

Cheers,
Old Oiler

To me, I think the GS fits the 25+ year old age group.

It all depends on what you need the car for. If I needed more space I probably would've gone for the GS or something close to that size. However, I won't need the space for the next 5-6 years so I went with the IS

yeah if I had enough for the GS450h..that **** is ill son. I've driven the GS300, it's nice and all but the power of the IS350 and sportier suspension/handling is way more inviting.

In a word... No

If however I was interested in a car in that class, I would have gotten the M45.

Are you kidding me? My mom has the GS 350 and I have the IS 250 both 07' and I would NEVER take her car over mine!! Handling differences are CRAZY!! I love the way they both look, amazing, but the driving experience is not to enthralling in the GS Compared to the IS.

Well, I easily fall into that 25+ group, lets put it at around 40+++++ for me.

There's a reason I say "Old" Oiler.

I am debating whether or not to get a new GS, I traded in my Gs400 for my Is250Awd and im having a rough time adapting to this "tin can." Well its a tin can compared to the GS. hehe

I have to admit that personally I think the GS is stunning. It looks a lot like the IS in ways, just larger. The only thing I'm not crazy about on the GS is the tail lights. They sort of look like an after thought.

Old Oiler, for some reason, we must have very similar thinking. I was just thinking that the other day. I love the 2IS, but the new GS is definitely nice.

Well what's done is done, I don't regret choosing this car. Still a Lexus and a very reliable one at that!

LOL, why oh why bring this to the forefront of my mind... When i was at the dealership buying my IS, my gaze kept going to a new GS sitting on the lot, even when i picked up my car and drove off the lot, i kept looking at the GS...

The 2IS fits me perfectly.

The 3GS is a great car, but it is too big for what I need. The GS300/430 are good but the IS350 packed more punch. And at the time in which I purchased the car, the IS was a much better bargain.

Now that the GS350/460 will be available, I think it will provide a little more umph. It needs it. Of course, it won't be more performance savvy, but it will definately add more speed and acceleration.

If I had to choose between the IS350 and GS350 now, I would still go for the IS. If I had a family/kids to lug around, I would go for the GS350.
