Default Headlight/turn signal removal DIY (pics.)

WARNING!
~NOT YOUR AVERAGE DYI~ bumper is not easy to reinstall.

I changed the turn signals to LED. I LoVe it! They do not hyper flash because I used a LED flasher. That part of the DYI is covered by Digiman. Do a search on "LED Flasher".

tools: screw driver
10mm scocket

1. Remove all the cllips and screws on the cover.
2. Then remove all the screws and clips on the top of grille.
3. Remove the two clips on each side by the front wheels.
4. Remove all the 10mm screws on the bottom of bumper.
*** If you don't understand the first 4 steps, this is not for you.*****

You will have to pull hard to get the bumper off.

5. Remove 10mm bolts where my finger is in the picture.

6. Pop off the cover expose to clip of headlight.

7. Remove 10mm bolts where my finger is in the picture.

8. Remove support (just pull)

9. After removing the three 10mm bolts, the headlight should be loose for you to pull.

10. I do not recommend to remove the harness. Beacuse it may screw the AFS/HID up.

~Continue~

11. The turn signal bulbs are at the bottom.

Putting it all back together takes A LOT of patients. The fitment is tricky. The whole DIY took 4hrs. I took a lot of time to ensure the gaps are the same as factory.

If I knew it would be this much work, I might not have done it. But now all my lights are all LEDs. I LoVe it!!!!

HAVE FUN!

good job. yea it's definitely easier to put the bumper back on with 2 people so you can get the alignment and fitments right.

Holy! All those steps to just change out the turn signal bulbs. I can understand doing it to upgrade to LED, but what happens when the OEM bulbs burn out (which they will since it's filament bulbs)for the rest of us. Do we need to go through all these steps too??? Lexus should have made all the lights user friendly to replace.

Great writeup ..... but this design is another example of how a manufacturer didn't use their noggin when designing the system. There should be a way to replace bulbs without having to go through a four hour operation and having to remove the front bumper.
