The IS 250 rear-wheel drive with six-speed sequential automatic transmission MSRP is $31,160 and includes Formula One- inspired steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The IS 250 all-wheel drive MSRP is $34,285 and, in addition to the above features, includes a perforated leather-trimmed interior upgrade with heated and ventilated front seats and wood trim.

The IS 350, the fastest sport sedan in the near luxury car segment, MSRP is $35,440. Its highly tuned 3.5-liter engine delivers a best-in-class 306 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque, resulting in the quickest zero-to-60 mph time of any competitor sport sedan.

The release mentions no option prices. Also, the 0-60 time of the IS 350 has officially dropped from 5.6 seconds to 5.3 seconds.

Careful with that $35K number. Start adding options at $2K a pop and you have a much more expensive vehicle, most likely approaching $45K.

I will say I'm happy with the $35K starting point for the IS350 as $45K loaded is exactly what I was expecting. Now if I could just FIND a loaded IS350...

I would think not. Probably another 500 or 600 for destination.

I think the 350 pricing is where most everyone thought it would be. Now add NAV, ML and the Performance Luxury Package and it sits well with the Volvo S60R and the BWW 330 at $45,000 give or take a few dollars. That is right where I was hoping it would be.

MSRP usually doesn't include shipping charge, which is $650 for Lexus. Figure about $2000 for the Premium Plus package and $4000 for NAVI/ML and you end up with 42-43K for a well equipped 350 (without PCS or park assist)--this is what people have speculated. That's still less than a basic GS300, which has much less hardware (IS350 uses components from GS430). That makes it a good buy.

Option prices should be very close to the prices for the options on the GS. You can make a close extrapolation from the GS list. (Remember that unlike on the GS, sunroof on the IS is standard. OTOH, the GS has some stuff standard that are options on the IS.)

Exactly what I was thinking, but remember that wood trim and heated/ventilated seats are standard as well.

But I agree with everyone that it will be up to how much the option packages are.

True, but the wood trim + heated/ventilated seats is only the baseline Premium Plus package. There's still gonna be extra cost in moving up to the Premium Luxury or Performance packages.

So the IS250 AWD is $3000 higher than the IS250 RWD. Usually, the AWD premium for Lexus vehicles (RX and GS) is about $2000.

So, $1000 extra for heated/ventilated/perforated seats and wood?
