Default Should I trade my g35 in for an IS?

Hello everyone!

I currently own a g35 (and a Yaris).
I'm thinking about selling/trading the G for an IS300.

Before I bought my G, I did as much research as I could, and everyone told me problems with the cars are a rarity. Having owned a Nissan Maxima, I should have known better.
Turns out, they're kinda problematic cars.
Pretty quick, but problematic.
Bad chain guides/tensioners, failing cam/crank shaft sensors, oil burning, short life span on rear bearings, etc.

When I began car shopping, I test drove G35s, G37s, IS300s (automatics), GXPs, and a handful of other cars that I liked.
I liked the IS300s a BUNCH. I liked that they have like every gauge possible in the cluster. They handled great. They felt light. Fun to drive.
Instead I narrowed my search down to G35s and G37s. I drove many to get a feel for the difference. You'd be surprised how different 1 car can drive from another (even though they're the exact same year/mileage!).
I picked out my G35 because it had amazing low end torque. G37s could probably (and do) pull on me hard after 60mph - but this G35 will always be first across the intersection. Don't know why. Way more low end torque?

Well, problem after problem has turned me off to the G35. Yeah, I can fix most everything on my own in the car.
But my chain guides/tensioners are on their way out - and when they do...

I'm done with the G.
I really want a manual IS300. I'm about to buy a house soon, and I'll have a garage to wrench on a car. I'd also like to perform a swap in my garage (if a direct 2jz swap is possible).
I still have my 200,000 miles (zero repairs) Yaris for backup.

But I don't want to buy a car that burns oil straight from the factory and somehow manages to destroy sensors over and over.

Is the IS300 anything like the G?
I'm cool with a slower car for now.

What about the tires - do they wear down quick? My G went through some soft tires I had in a little over 15k miles.
Can you feel the weight in the steering while - like you're driving a Cadillac?
Does random stuff cause the VVT Solenoids to gunk up and cause misfiring?
Is the 2jz swap easier in the IS300 than the SC300? I had an SC300 and that car not only had it's own issues - but it looked like a 2jz swap would run me 5-10k+. Even if I did the work on my own.
