Reverse beeps

Default Reverse beeps

Hi all.
So I have an auto IS300.

Since i first got it, it has always had a single, soul-rending BEEEEP when dropped into reverse. This is followed by the 'usual' silence, or beeps of increasing frequency the closer to an object the car gets (with 2 different tones depending if its from the corner or straight back).
However, recently i have developed a constant BEEP BEEP (2 seconds) BEEP BEEP etc while the car is in reverse, along with all the other beeps.

This has happened once or twice before when the boot was heavily loaded, but now it is empty and is still doing it!

Does anyone have any suggestions about the new beeping sound? Could it be a warning of a duff sensor?
