Hi everybody. Lately I've been thinking about future modifications for my IS for more speed..

Let me tell you exactly what I'm looking for:

-Around 300ish HP
-A budget less than $5,000
-Something unique

Well, what did that have me decide on? A 1UZ-FE swap (GS400 engine). Crazy, I know.

I know it's been done on other IS300's (90% in Russia lol), but I've never noticed any of these with manual transmissions? Is it even possible? I heard about some adapter kit to fit the manual tranny on the 1uz block.. Not sure, would anyone know by any chance?

I'm staying away from boost or a 2jz-gte swap because those two are expensive as crap and a headache down the line.. Also, the cheapest turbo kit that I would trust is like $6k? Not including upgrading internals? Bleh. Plus, why not have the roaring sound of a V8 on a muffler & and cat deleted IS300?

I'm sure somehow it could be done, but I would like to know from people with more knowledge about it and see if it's worth it.. Because picking up the motor and misc items will go for like $2k.. On top of labor like $4 - 4.5k? Plus the V8 somehow gets the same gas mileage?? Seems worth it to me.. I don't know guys, if you have more information on it regarding the swap with the is300 manual transmission, please let me know!

This place has conversion kits available. It's just a matter of getting the engine wired up properly. The engine and trans will drop in. And since the is300s came in manual, you can source a manual is300 pedal assembly, and clutch master/slave cylinder.
