weird bubble and whine noise
It's really hard to describe the whine noise. It's like a giant bubble surfacing. There's also a sloshing noise near the glove box when starting. From what I've read it's air in the coolant system.
Is my temp gauge higher than it should be? I noticed the engine seems hot and the temp gauge will move a very small amount sometimes. I noticed this yesterday and have stopped driving it.
The bubble and whine noise started to happen maybe 6 times on a 60 mile drive.
Is this common? Can it be anything very serious?

It's air in your cooling system... Raise the front end on a steep drive way or jack it up and let it run till the thermostat opens and that'll force the air out and fill it back up with red toyota coolant or napas Asian coolant. If that didn't help here's a link

I've always taken the radiator cap off, then turned the car on and let idle with the heater on full blast until it gets to operating temperature. You'll notice the coolant in the radiator will start to bubble and the level will drop. Keep adding coolant until the fluid levels and stops bubbling.

Green coolant is not factory. Red coolant which you have to mix 50/50 with water is factory. If you can drain the block too, that would be great as mixing coolant can cause it's own issues sometimes. Then do as the other posts say and raise the front end. Air travels up and will go to the highest point. It definitely sounds like you have air in the system. Does I get louder when u turn the blower speed up? If so you might just have a leaf in the blower motor. Let me know if I can help anymore. Good luck. Temp looks correct by the way.

Yes.. Let the car idle with radiator cap off till temp reaches warm (middle)while at a vertical angle to force air out and refill with original toyota fluid or napa's Asia fluid (red)
