Default Thinking of getting one...

Hey all,

Forgive me if similar has been posted already...

Like many of you, I love manuals. However, the IS350 is auto only. So, why not get an IS300?

Is there a particular year that was "better" than others for the first generation? I want to find something reliable given the car will probably already be high mileage. This would be for daily driver to keep miles off the other car. And to have fun with the manual, ha.

Any advice or things to look out for when looking for a first generation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

i believe the 2001 was the only year that the is300s didn't use multiplex system. I would go with 02+ as it has a revised grill and multiplex system. I own an 04 2jzgte vvti myself and I love the car! Is300 like most toyota/lexus is reliable. If you are looking for a good one make sure the timing belt and water pump were changed if it has 100k mile to save some $$

Thanks! I was thinking 02+ as well. Besides, I can only find 02 and 04 models within 500 miles.

Hopefully I can find a good deal. What do you (and others) think a good price to look for is for a car with 75,000 + miles? I imagine all under $10,000.

Lately there has been crazy deals on IS300s but just pick one that has a clean title! You can get a superb one around the $7500 mark but you have to be patient and keep looking.
