Default What is this Open Valve?

I just purchased a 2002 IS300 from a guy that didn't take the best care of it. It has some codes on it such as the O2 Sensors (replacing the headers this weekend to correct) and an EVAP small leak. A few other trivial things on the inside, but nothing I can't handle. While checking the Timing Belt I noticed a couple Valve Outlets that are open that look like they should have hoses on them. I have searched the engine bay and cannot find anywhere that looks like they are missing hoses. The Valve Outlets are off the front of the engine, which is the 2JZ, on either side of the Timing Cover. I have included a photo of it, though it is not the greatest quality photo. This one is from the drivers side of the engine on the front., Any info on it would be very helpful. Thanks guys.

Sorry, that was a terrible photo. Here is a smaller one with an arrow pointing at the valve I am talking about. Thanks guys.

seems like that valve is a breather tube of some sort. I thought the same thing after an engine swap and connecting back all the hoses, but that one doesn't leak fluids and stays open......if I'm worng someone correct me......

That is kind of what I thought but wasn't sure. Especially since there is the same valve on the other side of the engine also.

holy big picture.... its a vacuum line connection, just goes to the same type of nipple on the opposite side... don't know if it was used on the IS's or not... mine is definitely not connected, but there isn't much stock about mine anyways

That vacuum/coolant line is not used on this model. The first time I went to work on my favorite car(which i didnt own yet) i noticed it and questioned it myself.

It's not used on the IS 300. You can stop worrying about it..
