Default vvti na-t

I know that is not the best option but i bought a 99 sc300 and am trying to put together a reliable 400/430 daily driver. not planning to go for higher power later so no need to spend money where i don't need to. every body i know says that vvti engine is not good for that power range. i will be running AEM FIC 6 channel with 440 injectors and a BW turbo somewhere between 12/15 psi with tt head gasket.
the question is how many people have vvti na-t and is it good or not worth it and what are some of the things i have to be aware of.
