Young and New to Lexus
Im 15 1/2 just started getting into cars but i don't know where to start. ive just looked at videos and read somethings and so far lexus's have caught my eye. im hoping on getting a lexus is350 for my first car. but basically what are the basics on becoming a "lexus head" ?

1. wrong subforum
2. TERRIBLE choice, 350 is way too much power for not only an inexperienced driver but for a young driver.
3. you wont have the money for repairs, maintenance, gas, insurance.. its not a cheap car
4. rwd car for someone who has no experience driving a RWD car is a bad idea. if you want to learn to drive a RWD car and not end up in an accident you should look at something with substantially less power than an is350

I agree that 300+ hp for a new driver is a lot of power to handle, especially rwd; however, If you have the funds for maintenance, insurance, and such, just do your research and buy what you like! Just be very cautious, drive safe and REALLY get to know your car on some close course or something if you plan on driving hard so that you know what it can/can't do and what you can/can't do! Don't risk it on the streets.
I was (still am) young and stupid. Did a lot of speeding and stupid stuff. Been in several close calls on the streets and finally realize, its not worth it! Just drive a nice car and pick up the hot chicks! No need for any speeding of such sort. No need to flex any muscle.
No such thing as a lexus gearhead.
My last thing is, don't mod the car just to try and impress others if you don't like it. Example, for me the "moar low" crap and stretched tires, not for me, at all and i can careless what people say. To me, i rather have function than just plain looks. It's YOUR car, do what you like to it and not what people like! Make it unique to you, not like everyone else.

whats the world coming to? 15 yr olds with IS350s!! Wow...most people cant even have a car when theyre 16, let alone a Lexus! Sorry OP, nothing against you personally...as some say, I think it may be better to start your driving career with something a little more modest? just my 2 cents...

Wonder why all you guys care about how old he is or how "spoil" he may be! Dtcsurfer, at 17, maybe you should concentrate more on doing school and such and less time working your *** off for your is300. Not an attack, i am just saying because i made that mistake.
We all will make mistake and we grow from it. If his parents are balling and willing to buy him a is350, i say take it, not for the sheer power or anything, but just as a damn chick magnet! He has yet to mention what his plan is yet with the car. Maybe he is just going to use it as a chick magnet! Knowing me, i probably wouldn't just use it as a chick magnet, but people are different. Can't just assume.
OP, i say go for it if your parents are willing to buy you one. However, if you have to try and work to pay for it, i say don't. Don't loose focus on your education because cars can be a huge distraction, or for me at least.
