Default w58 transmission swap please help!!

hey guys Ive been searching for more information on a auto to w58 trans swap and have a few question i just can't seem to find the answer to hopefully you guys can help.

1. if the w58 is pulled from a sc300 or mkiv supra why does the bell housing have to be changed?, there both 2jz motors, and from what i read the w58 and w55 share the same part number.

2.is it true the ecu from an at can be flashed to work as a mt, thus avoiding finding a mt ecu from is300?

3. what is the difference in the tail shafts as well is the w55 the only option or can something be done witht eh w58 etc.?

4. and finally are there any other parts such as sc300 clutch and brake pedel assembly etc. that are interchangeable bringing the cost of the at to mt swap down?

please keep this topic on track and not switch subjects i cannot find these answers anywhere, thank you for your help.

1. The bell housing should be the same for all 2JZ W series transmissions
2. I am not too sure if the ECU can be flashed, but I have a M/T ECU for sale if you need it!
3. The SC300 W58 will not have the tripod like the MKIV Supra, nonetheless the tail shafts do not allow the use of the factory IS300 driveshaft to be used, therefore the need exists to get the W55 tail housing. You can use the W58 tailshaft as long as you get a custom driveshaft. Keep in mind that your auto driveshaft is completely different from the manual driveshaft.
4. You will need the manual pedal set from an IS300 if you are converting from auto to manual. You can use the SC300/MKIV Supra single mass flywheel and clutch setup instead if the IS300 dual mass flywheel in the event that your transmission comes with all of these parts.

Bell housings are the same, I used a W55 IS300 BH for my MKIII Supra 2J swap.
