Default Clunk noise over bumbs?

I have this clunking noise over small bumps coming from the right front side. I took the tire off and stuck my hand in between the springs under the shock rubber and found this piece loose which I can easily move up and down. (in red box) atleast from what I could feel, it feels like it looks like that. Could this be the reason for the clunking? Is that shock done? Thanks for the feedback!

It might be the shock absorber. I had that same sound in my Sport Cross, even when I drove on slightly bad roads. When I changed my front shock absorbers the noise was gone
But now when you say the bump stop is loose, it could be that as well, but I would change it all. Then it is done

I have some Tanabes GF210 springs that I am going to install as soon as I figure out which shocks to get. Can that loose bump stop be reinstalled where it goes until then? The rest of the shocks seem to be fine for the time being.

I'm sure it can, but it sure son't stop the noise until you get new Unless it is so damaged so it will just fall out by itself..
