Post New to Lexus.

What's up guys.

The names Danny. Just came here to formally introduce myself to the forum. Currently, I'm looking to pick up an IS300, and figured I'd save the time and trouble to join up on Club Lexus now before I buy.

Looking to do a lot of things to the car once I pick it up. Knowing that the manual is hard to come by, and if I do find one, it probably won't be in good shape. So, I'm looking to pick up an auto, and doing a 5 speed swap, along with boosting it.

I'm located in SoCal, but soon to find out where I'll be stationed. I'm 19, and Active Duty Air Force as well. EOD that is. Grew up here in SoCal and have met a lot of people over the years in the car scene.

I'm also part of FreshOnStance, and have a lot of hook ups on parts all around. Here's the car I currently drive, as it has come to the final days of selling.

Welcome and nice Evo.. You can find alot of useful information on this site as well as my.is. Good luck for your search for a manual IS since as you know they are hard to find but they are out there.

Nice evo!

I'm confident your IS will look just as good as the evo when you're done with it.

Yeah I do ! Tommy's a great friend of mine!

Thanks for all of the compliments guys. The car is almost completely stock, then the search will continue.

I want some input though. Since I'm entering into a whole new ball game, what's a good year for the car? As well as mileage concerns, these 2JZGE's, how long do they normally last?

As long as you do regular maintenance they'll last forever. Theres a guy on here with a GS with 500k miles on it so as with other Toyota motors 2JZ's are damn near indestructible.

Damn man! I heard if I'm able to find, and scrap up a 6 speed tranny from a supra, they're indestructable.
