Question About Resetting the "Maint Req'd" Light After an Oil Change
I forgot to reset the "Maint Req'd" indicator light after my oil was changed. I have driven the car about 2,000 miles since the oil was changed. Does the indicator light operate on a true analysis of the oil level and quality, or is it simply a function of the number of miles driven? If the latter is true, I guess I could just leave it on until the next oil change, and then just be sure to reset it then. If, however, it does analyze the current level and quality of the oil, then I would like to reset it myself. Which leads me to my last question - how do you reset the light?!!
Thanks
Thanks

iirc to reset it you hold that trip button on the cluster and turn on your car. if that doesnt work try holding the brake down while holding that same button too. i dont remember which one it is lol

Turn ignition on
Set readout to ODO
Turn ignition off
Hold the TRIP reset button.
Turn ignition on while still holding reset button. Do NOT start engine.
You will see "-----" on the readout. Continue to hold until they all disappear. It will read "00000"
Release button.
Light comes on every 5,000 miles. Only 04-05 IS300 came with this light.
