I have a 2004 IS300 with 75k miles that had not given me any problems for eight years. Just recently I have hade a lot of problems all at once and was wondering ifmthey are all connected. The fuel gauge is stuck on empty, the Check Engine indicator light is on, and the TRAC OFF indicator light is flashing every few seconds, the driver's main window and door lock control stopped working, the electronic key stopped working to unlock the doors, and the outside temperature gauge is now reading in Celsius. I tried taking the negative terminal cable off the battery for 30 minutes and then reconnecting and driving for 45 minutes. All that did was waste 45 minutes of gas. Any ideas onmhow to address any or all of these problems. Fundamentally, the car runs well except for these annoying problems.

Poor gas mileage and an unresponsive auto trans were my biggest gripes. Besides that, I had both traction and stability control so I was never able to have any fun in mine. Stability control always kept me in check. That isn't an inherent vice of the IS though, just my fault for not buying a 5 speed without stability control. Its a very reliable car and I could not complain about anything else.

I hate how the rear bumper is different from the altezza
I despise the GE in all its hellish sluggery
The W55 is like rowing a very homosexual boat
Rear folding seats would of been nice
To the guy who says he needs to put premium in his IS300 ...... LOL.

To the guy that pumps 87 in his IS.... LOL. You must enjoy pinging and the ECU pulling timing. Might wanna check facts before attempting to poke fun of others.

I love everything about my is300 <3 except for the "felt" material on the dash (where you can put your cell, or glasses) because everything slides off when I get on it or take turns

I have owned 3 and ALL have not given me any issues. my current has an aristo swap and still drives as reliable as factory. the W55 has a puck clutch and mine being and 03 blk/blk sport, it has the LSD. even after all the abuse i have put it through the trans doesnt even grind and has 160,xxx on the clock. i find it hard to compare the sportiness of this sedan to any other of its age. yes, normal maintenance will pop up just like any other car of its age, but the stock GE motor can go 250,000 or so miles flawlessly if maintained properly. yes gas mileage is normally from 19-23mpg, but i also have an IS350 and it only gets 20-23 in stock form so i would say its just a toyota thing. . . .
