I just bought a 2005 SportCross and been thinking about what to do when the motor goes. This might be a great option and fun project... pending if wife lets me and also what my other projects allows me.

Holy cow, that's amazing. I think I shared this on another post but I'm picking up my first IS300 on Monday and after seeing that I can do an LSx swap in one of these blows my mind. The LSx motor is one of the greatest motors GM has ever made, like you said. It's super reliable and is a powerhouse. I've had a 93 RX7 with an LS1 and that thing was bad-a. But like you, having a baby and being able to put him/her in the backseat rocking a luxury car with an LSx motor is legit. Whenever my motor goes (if it ever will, it's only got 149k miles), I'm SO doing the swap. Congrats! Amazing car.
