No major updates, just more fun. Took the IS up to Road Atlanta last weekend and drove for a few sessions. The car did great, just definitely leaves a bit to be desired in grip (limited by 245 tires) and brakes.

My latest "mod": a Chicco Keyfit 30 Going to our local cars and coffee event in the morning and might bring my little guy.

Given that we have a newborn in the house there hasn't been much time to work on the Miata or the IS300, but that's alright - I'm just enjoying driving for now.

The fact I can put a car seat in this thing is great. Try that in other LSX equipped cars!

Hard to say for sure because I traded an LS430 + cash, but Matt originally listed it for $25k and had a deposit within 8 days (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...treet-car.html)

I must say this car couldn't have fell into better hands. Nick takes the Is620 to the limit and maintains the beast just as I would. Just the kind of driver this car is designed for. Keep up the hard driving and don't forget to enjoy this creation. You are quite the wheel man Nick

Default Daily life with LS300 and Emissions?

Nick... Seriously considering LS swap into my Sportcross
I want a strong daily driver, but have concerns about daily life after the swap.
Inspection? Emissions?..traffic manners?... Catalytic with O2?
Hoppy clutch or driveline?
Chassis and instrument functions?

You have any insights for us after some time?

a LS3 engine in an IS with a manual transition ? Are you serious, absolute genius. You just earned a ton of cool points with me. I am impressed, just incredible. What kinda numbers are you running to 60mph and 1/4 miles or standing miles, im so curious.

An LS swapped Sportcross would be incredible - and to my knowledge you would be the first to do the swap into the wagon.

This car makes a good daily driver, but I can't imagine driving it as my only car. On the positive side, the power is intoxicating; even a trip down the street to the grocery store becomes an exciting excuse for some lightly spirited driving. The sound of the exhaust is beautiful; it's the only stereo you need. And the car is downright practical - it's basically a four door C6 Vette with a proper trunk.

Reasons why you may not want to have it as a daily? The exhaust noise may be a little much for some people (could easily be fixed with a different exhaust design, but this car was built to be raw). I sit in heavy stop and go traffic (Atlanta ) both to and from work, so rowing the gears can be a minor annoyance. Lastly, it tends to get a bit of attention (mostly due to the aforementioned exhaust note) so if you are the kind that want to go incognito you'll either want to quiet yours down or remain with existing drivetrain. Lastly, it can be a bit thirsty (most of this is due to the driver's heavy left foot).

As for emissions, no problem passing the OBDII test with the help of HP tuners. It does have catalytic converters and I would expect that it would pass a tailpipe sniffer test as well. No hoppy driveline or chattering clutch - this car is incredibly smooth. All of the stock gauges except the temp gauge works, so I have a scan gauge that reads coolant temp. I'm considering adding a gauge pod with coolant temp, oil temp, and AFR.

Overall I am 100% satisfied with the car. So....do it! I'd love to follow your build.
