Smog test fail
I recently bought a 2004 lexus is300. Went to get it SMOG checked and it failed. Turned out my radiator was busted. 500 later my temperature i go back and it failed again with the car over heating.
Took it back to the shop and dude said there was a air pocket in the coolant tank. He fixed the problem and I've been driving around the last week without the temp going past the half way mark.
Just took it back to get it smogged and it failed again. How come the temp goes up when it is getting tested but i speed around on the street and it's fine? Does it have something to do with being on a slant? please advise thank you.

is your radiator fan working correctly? While you are moving air is being forced into the radiator when you are moving forward but if the car is standing still for extended periods of time without the fan working it can overheat...
