okay my name is john im 18 and i just bought a 2001 lexus is3000 for $2500 with 86940 miles .The kid i bought it from knew nothing about cars no help at all. im still a kid but jeez was this kid stupid.
from what i know the car has HID lights, auto, and has the metallic blue paint , i believe it has a gs300 wing on it too. the car does need work, tlc on body bumber needs to be fixed. the interior was is pretty banged up. The car has some issue the traction control light blinks, the abs light came on and the check engine light came on. also when i come from a stop the car feels liek it wants to die and goes really slow from a stop. also the speedometer stopped working i have only been driving the car for about 2 days. i mean for the price it wasnt bad but all these problems are starting to arise.
hers pics of the car

Man!!! you were lucky to get the car for that price.usually it would cost around 12-14 grand! the body work is mimimal, you can get parts from a junkyard or ebay.as far as the engine work ,you need to take it to autozone and get the codes to see what wrong with it and post them here or my.is! you will get a quicker response from my.is plus, they have do it yourself or d.i.y instructions to help with your car! where are you located at in CT? i'm from new haven but ,i know a salvage yard in waterbury that has IS parts?

the O2 sensors will have to be replaced.it would be best to get them from autozone or you can get them online?i got one for $125 and had a mechanic installed it for me, cheap!your maf sensor can be cleaned buy removing the 2 screws and unplugging the connector to the sensor, then if you have some alcohol and q-tips,dip the q-tip in alcohol,BE GENTLE and BE CAREFUL not to break the small wire in the sensor. clean inside and around the sensor then let it air dry for a few minutes, the replace the sensor and replace the plug!

Not too shabby at all!

Just throw about another 2k into her with repairs and fender/bumper replacements and she'll look good. Then worry with the sun roof motor and interior

i plan to swap a motor in i heard that the 2jzgte vvti motors are plug n play, plan on running a holset hx35 from a diesel truck, my friend runs that in his mkiv supra and reaches full boost by 2800 rpms, i also need to do the 5spd swap looking for a r154 tranny and i heard that the soarer drivetrains mock up. so i wldnt have to get a custom one.

Full boost by 2800 rpm on a hx35? Surely this is a typo
