Default Stick shift **** warm

I just got the car and really did not had the chance to driver her until yesterday and today, but the shift **** is getting warm.
Is that normal for the IS300?

i have to and this is the only car that has done it...i thought it was me but nope my amigo does the same thing....how hot does it get?

The only reason why the shift **** gets hot, its because the top part is metal. Usually the shift ***** would be plastic or some sort of plastic.

Mine is Momo aftermarket know, but don't think the original is made of plastic either.

Is only warm, not so hot you can't grap it. YET

Trust me, I use to have a Razo Aluminum Shift ****. In the summer it got so hot that i had to put a rag on it just to drive.

yea its normal and in the Cold NY winters the shift **** gets ice cold, i might switch to a trd leather one that will help with the cold but not the hot

I found out is NOT normal
When I drive hard the shifter gets warmer vs smooth driving.
Also there are alot of noise coming from the stick, sounds like the output shaft bearing is gone. Yes I do have the short shifter but it not supposed to make the grinding noise only whine.
Please help out guys.

i had a standard is300 and i dont recall it ever getting warm dont think it soppose to make noise hope u figure it out

output shaft bearing?? or the throw out(release) bearing?

Is not the T/O but tranny shaft bearing.

Have you tried replacing your MTF? Any leaks from the tranny? If your gears are grinding when you shift, maybe the clutch needs to be bled. Hopefully it isn't anything more serious.
