I have an 04 and I went with Stance, from TH Motorsports. They were a little over a grand shipped and I have been very happy with the ride quality and have no problems.

I have had Tein Type Flex and Type Super Sport, both were great. My friend has Stance coilovers on his IS300 and I really like them too. Lots of good options out there for you.

There are many different coilover options out there. I would recommend either Tein or Stance

I have Tein SS and have been on them ever since getting my IS. I have had zero problems with them. Tein has gone up in price i believe, Stance would the good alternative

Stance's bushings are really weak, so I'd stay away from them. Nice coilovers, but the bushings start to wear after a couple months. THMotorsports always has competitive prices, so I'm sure they could help you out. Unless I find a company that can provide upgraded replacement bushings for my Stance GR+, I will probably look into Greddy Type S.

"What are you looking to do with the car?

-i want to lower the car, but keep the ride quality. as far as price, i was thinking anything below a 1000 should be doable for me.
