What all is messed up? Just the ECU? What mods are done to your car if any?

if the damage is just the ecu I'm like 90% sure you can just get a used ECU.
Just make sure the car you get the used ECU from is SAME as yours (auto, etc...)..

Not sure but you might have problems with your door locks, security, and ignition being that it is a new ECU.
I'm not sure though..
Either way, I would rather try to get a used ECU for $100 and try to swap it out and see if that works before having to shell out $1700.....

a short ram intake by itself should not cause any ecu damage. what problems/symptoms do you have and what was the intake install -was there wiring and reprogramming chips or just a tube and filter?

$1700 is super rape. When I was having problems with my previous boosted IS and the shop thought it was my ECU, I paid $200 for the ECU and another $200 or so for them to re-program it, turned out it wasn't the ECU though. $1700 is insane. I still have the ECU if you need one. Pm me if you do.
