Default 02 indash install

Ok, im installing an indash for my dads friend in his 02 is300 and ive searched here and google but really havnt seen a straight way to put in an aftermarket radio unless i get the radio harness for like 130$. if i hardwire it is there anything special i would need to do or know about? i installed a deck in my sc400 and everything worked out good but im not sure if it would be the same as doing it in an is3

I installed mine without the harness and it was pretty easy, as long as you know wiring you will be fine. I am a novice in electrical and I was able to do it, disassembling the dash was the hardest part there are two 12mm bolts in the center vents that u need a swivel socket and a quarter inch extension to take em off that was the only thing I had a problem with

my mistake its an 01. i followed the wiring from this website http://www.modifiedlife.com/car-ster...1-lexus-is300/
if i connect the 12v constant and the 12v switch together to the blue/yellow wire from the stock harnesss it turns on but doesnt turn off when i take the key out...

with the tyto-01 harness, do i just color match to the deck after doing the nessesary steps?

so im having an issue finding a harness to connect to my aftermarket head unit. i clicked on the link that was posted and is that amplifier integration module the only wiring you need?

I just installed my 2DIN DVD player yesterday in my 01 IS300. I bought a dash kit from ebay ($15), the tyto-01 radio harness from amazon.com ($50), and used the diy writeup from my.is. Very easy and worked perfect with the help from the DIY below....
