New Lexus in my area, should I take it?
So its been a while since a Lexus pop up in my craiglist. But today when i checked I saw one of the most beautiful IS300 in my area. Sadly I own a 00" ES300 and just replaced it with a new engine. So I was thinking what will I lose or gain if I trade it in? or I shouldn't?

i think it will be a good trade if that IS was well maintained. It looks a lil beat up to me just from looking at that front rim or maybe the previous owners just sucks at parking. well you should go check it out before its gone.

Just make sure that airbag light isn't on(last picture on link). May have been they just started it and that light stays on a few seconds and they didn't give it time to cut off. who knows. I say check it out in person to see if yu like it, it does look a little beat though.

yeah he wants to check my car but its 40 minutes drive to his place. The thing is my front bumper got a crack in it, my VSC and Check Engline light is on due to a catalytic converter problem. Engine has 6K and body has 212K. What do you think he will offer before I go there? I do like the IS300 im fully looking at a IS300, GS300, or a G35 because I am interesting in modding. We are looking for something sporty because next spring we going to have a photoshoot with Stealth, Legacy, Civic Si, and TSX, lol.

#2- you have to spend money
Those are the rules for trading in and buying from a dealer. He likely has 6k in the car and would take as little as $7100 cash in hand, straight green. You have a car that retails it condition at about $6.5k or so. He will likely look at about $3,700 lowball for your car. If he says $5k trade in rip his arm off and run with it.
You are probably looking at a total of trade + $3,600 for "windshield price" of the car. Financing not included.

This is probably true^, although you could take your car and set it beside this one and it is probably about an even trade. Like O.L.T. said it's all about the money and an even trade is not making money so they are not going to do that.
